SHUBH AASHIRWAD CEREMONY OF ANANT AMBANI & RADHIKA MERCHANT

When I first arrived in Mumbai, I resigned myself to spending the night at the airport. I knew no one in the city. Many nights were spent alone by the sea, counting the waves. That was where my journey began. While the world’s attention was on this city, eagerly awaiting a ‘royal’ wedding celebration, it felt like a dream when I was entrusted with the creative visual design for the entire ‘Shubh Aashirwad’ ceremony by the renowned choreographers Vaibhavi Merchant and Shruti Merchant.

Initially, I was overwhelmed and unsure how to manage such a significant task. The day Priyam and I first went to meet Shri Mukesh Ambani and Smt. Nita Ambani at their Mumbai residence, ‘Antilia,’ it was around 12:30 at night. It was an incredible experience, marking the beginning of our journey. Soon enough, the day of the ceremony arrived. The world’s eyes were on this grand wedding. Our hard work finally paid off when our illustrations were brought to life by Artist In Motion in rhythm with the music of the famous composer duo Ajay-Atul, in front of the Shankaracharyas, the Prime Minister, and guests from around the world. Working on the Indian mythology for this project was a spectacular journey. The rich narratives and profound symbolism provided an endless source of inspiration, allowing us to create visuals that were both captivating and deeply meaningful. This experience not only enriched our creative vision but also deepened our appreciation for the timeless tales of India’s cultural heritage.
